Fourth of July

We had a very traditional 4th of July at our house. Alex broke beans and canned with her grandmother all day. Anthony sold some of his corn, fished, and worked with Papaw. We grilled bratwurst for supper with fried onions and green peppers, and fresh corn and tomatoes from the garden. Yum!

Then, Alex talked us into driving to Townsend for the fireworks. I'm glad she did. We got there just before they began, found a parking spot, and found a place to put our blankets down just in time for the opening with the National Anthem. We were disappointed when the National Anthem started at how many people did not STAND up for it, they left their hats on, and many certainly didn't place their hands over their heart. They had to be foreigners cause no one from this area would ever think of disrespectin' like that.

Hmm, a soon to be teenager on her cell phone? Never seen that before...

Great job, Townsend, on some beautiful fireworks!!
